Our History, Goals, and Board Members

Our Beloved Liberia in Images

The main objective of our Foundation is to supply educational materials and provide standard quality education to Liberian students, as well as resources to empower Liberia’s impoverished women.

The economy in Liberia is extremely distressed, and Liberia itself is one of the poorest and least developed countries in the world.  Approximately 40 percent of primary school students are three years older than the appropriate age for their grade.  Liberia’s education system lags behind most countries in both access and quality.  There is an immediate need of food for children in school, which would ensure that the students get at least one meal per day.

Women in Liberia, in general, have less access to education, healthcare, property and justice when compared to men.  Although women account for 54 percent of the work force, they remain severely marginalized and lack the means to ensure a sustainable livelihood because they are underpaid and work within the informal sector.  Many Liberian women must beg for their most basic needs. One of the ways we aim to enable women to support themselves is by providing a means to make and sell their wares in the local marketplace.
